  1. Poverty exists because people make different choices. Even in some hypothetical scenario where we can just give everyone basic living amenities, there would still be people in relative poverty, compared to other people. And there are also some people who just can't be helped, with any amount of good will and aid.

  2. The jets and all the overall waste and pollution can be explained by basic hypocrisy, rules for thee, but not for me. But they wouldn't be buying multi million dollar coastal properties if they thought it would be underwater in 10 years.
