@matthewschiavi7353 not only that, but having such a smug attitude about his own ignorance. There's plenty of shit I don't know about, but you're not gonna catch me pretending to know what I don't know like Kyle does so frequently, when you can just say "I don't know" when you don't know. It's not like anyone who does know is going to be fooled by you trying to fake it until you make it anyway.

This is the way it used to be, and the way it should be. Or maybe just due to my age I'm naive about how bad things were when I was young, but in my 20s, in the early 2000s, when I first started paying attention to politics, you could disagree with someone and usually remain pretty civil. The vast majority of Americans were pretty moderate, most of us were moderate conservatives or moderate liberals, so there was a lot of overlap with our ideals. They would favor more progressive taxes than me, and I would favor more like a flat tax, but that's not a fundamental difference, just a shift. The left has gone too far left. If someone advocated for socialism back then they would have been laughed at as a crackpot extremist, as they should have been. Socialism is extremism. Full stop. There's nothing remotely centrist or reasonable about it.

@rppope1006 they weren't even shy or sneaky about their plans back then either. Most people shrugged it off as just some delusions of grandeur, or political enemies overstating it for their own purposes. Same as Soviet leaders saying they would "conquer the west without firing a shot" and things like that, nobody took it seriously. At least nobody who was taken seriously took it seriously. And now that the end goals are being achieved, most of the people who remember them clearly stating their goals are dead, or are old enough that young people won't listen to them.

@Redmachine12345 I guess what I mean is regardless of your own personal feelings towards Trump, try as best you can to just sweep that bias aside, and ask yourself why the media hated him so bad. It's not because he's bad, whether or not you think he's bad. Not relevant. The media doesn't care about that. They had other reasons for telling you why he was so bad. Ask yourself what that is.

@Redmachine12345 I guess that's partly a fair point, I think more and more people are starting to wake up to how much they were manipulated by the whole "orange man bad" propaganda narrative. And I'm not saying you have to like Trump, but goddamn. No honest person can really think that the media didn't have their own motives behind that. And seeing the complete and instant 180 they took the moment Biden took office really snapped a lot of people awake.

@secularnevrosis sorry bud, you can use whatever mental gymnastics you want to try and justify it (just like all terrorist sympathizers do) but BLM and Antifa are terrorist organizations. There's no intelligent and reasoned argument against that. That's what they are, beyond any doubt whatsoever, and you know that too.

@Redmachine12345 I get what you mean in principle, sure, people can change their minds, and they should get due credit for that for showing humility. But when it comes to the Russia conspiracies, it's been pretty clear for a pretty long time that it was all bunk. Hard to believe there's anyone just figuring that out now. Anyone who still believes it is probably going to believe it until the day they die, regardless of all the mounting evidence against it. Just smells like a different motivation for Brand changing his tune if you ask me.

@sadiemakesmesmile he's in pretty good shape for a man his age. He's overweight, but other than that he doesn't have any serious chronic conditions that I know of, he's pretty damn sharp for an old dude too. Think of someone in your personal life you know that's in their 70s.

@Redmachine12345 wow. It's amazing how some people can kind of get it, but then go off the rails and be so wildly off. You're really close too, it actually would take less effort to just go ahead and realize you've been lied to about practically everything than it does to maintain the lie.

I understand that "us vs them" is a manufactured battle, and a lot of other people do too, but when the far left is out there destroying businesses and becoming full blown domestic terrorists, it sort of becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
