  1. The average person also doesn't want to be labeled as a bigot or any other "bad thing" regardless of whether it's true or not. So they're not going to say anything about companies marketing to a small minority of lunatics. And the lunatics absolutely will say something if you don't pander to them.

  2. I mean, let's be real, I'm sure LGBT cat parents represent a much larger % of the overall cat parent population than they represent in the overall population. I don't even have to see any actual data to know that's true, I think anecdotal evidence is enough to make a very solid guess there. So that's just smart marketing.

  3.  @leeallen3202  what the hell, I never said only gay people like cats. Of course a lot of straight people like cats. But pretty much all gay people like cats, in fact it's probably in the "LGBT for Beginners" handbook, "chapter 3, you have to have a cat."

  5.  @leeallen3202  it's a pretty accurate stereotype though, both with dogs and cats. I've worked in pet care for 9 years, it's an open secret, I've even joked about it with gay couples. Everyone knows it. It's not like it's a negative stereotype anyway. Most normal people in the real world aren't as sensitive as internet weirdos who spend their lives looking for something to be offended by.
