The same people who say "tax the rich!" And actually think a universe exists where politicians would make their buddies pay extremely high taxes, and that their buddies would actually pay that extremely high tax. Nevermind the fact that the wealthiest people in the US already pay extremely high taxes, both in net amount and by percentage of their income, these same people have no idea that the rich "pay" taxes to buy political influence, and raising their taxes would only raise their influence.

@jeanpaulmichell7243 but profit is always going to be the most efficient and sensible way of both producing and making products available, if you want stuff, you have to make stuff, and then trade stuff for other stuff. That's as old as time. If you try to set up some kind of system where people can just have whatever they need or want, then you're going to have more people needing and wanting stuff than the amount of people who make stuff. That's just the way it goes. People don't generally make stuff unless they have to make stuff in order to have stuff. Humans find ways to exploit each other, that's what we do. That's not unique to capitalism, or even rich people within a capitalist system, the people who complain about capitalism are just the people who suck at capitalizing.

@charleswomack2166 this comment sure got weird at the end.

@jeanpaulmichell7243 I get that point too, I just don't trust the people who would be doing the regulating. I think there's as much argument that the US already has too much regulation, and I'm not full libertarian on the issue, I agree with regulations for environmental protection, and employee protection to some extent, although in some ways you can make the argument that's even gone too far, to the extent that employees' protections can even mean employers are more vulnerable. There's definitely a problem with a small number of companies and entities having too much power to the point that they basically ARE the government. I just think the solution is different, when companies like Google can make policies that basically nobody likes, and still be the megapower in their comparable field, there's a problem. That's not market driven. And they're backed by the government. That's not capitalism.

What do you suggest should "run" society instead?
2
@jeanpaulmichell7243 that's still based on profit though, the profit is just allocated differently.

@KingMickeyMouseOoO but crony capitalism isn't capitalism. The government colluding with big business is the opposite of capitalism.
2
@KingMickeyMouseOoO every major developed country has a mixed economy, when we refer to the US as "capitalist" that doesn't mean that the entire economic system is capitalist, obviously, because taxes are not capitalism. Government intervention in the market is not capitalism. That doesn't mean that regulation is inherently bad or good, it just is, and the government scratching the backs of their corporate donors for a back scratch of their own is most certainly not capitalism. "Crony capitalism" is just a misleading term leftists invented to shrug off the fact that their absolutist stance against capitalism is complete nonsense, because anyone who's all the way for or against capitalism clearly knows nothing whatsoever about economics.

@AwesomeBlackDude how are minorities paying "substantially more" in taxes? You didn't provide any kind of support or even explanation for that, you just say it as though it's true just because you said it. The entire rest of your long winded bullshit is completely irrelevant unless you can provide some kind of backing for the first of many, many, many incredibly stupid claims you made. Let's just start with one. Try and keep it less than bible sized this time.

@funnyyoutuber376 yea I guess so, was just weird though. He got the weird/funny ratio wrong, it's supposed to be mostly funny and a little weird, not mostly weird and.....not funny at all.

@cattreeoflife980 none of what you just said is even remotely true, in any way at all.
1
@cattreeoflife980 I'm aware of statistics around taxation, that's why I'm telling you you're objectively and verifiably incorrect.

@Serenadesong I don't assume everyone is lazy and no good, I KNOW with absolute certainty that leftists are lazy and no good. You're not to be trusted. You only exist to leech off of other people's work, you're not fit for society. We have to have a system that makes sure you at least have to put some kind of effort into life, otherwise we would all be extinct, because you're not smart enough to be alive without regular people doing all the work for you.

@direwolf6234 productivity increase isn't the same as human productivity increase. But you already know that, you're just being deliberately dishonest.

@matthewchase2930 YouTube has really turned it up to 11 with the censorship a few days ago, I've noticed every comment thread has less visible comments than what it says when you first click on it. There's a better than 50% chance you won't even see this comment.

People would have reversed their support of the war if they had. The media has turned half of the countrie's brains into coleslaw now, they can say and do whatever they want and people will believe it with a smile on their face.
