I've been right leaning all my life, or at least as long as I've been old enough to have my own opinion on politics, and I'll admit that the left was way ahead of myself and most people on the right when it comes to sham wars for money, I supported the post 9/11 wars at first, I believed the lies about "national security". But I caught myself relatively shortly after, after some more facts came in. I'm not too proud to admit I was taken for a ride, this is what these people do, you're not stupid if you fall for lies by people who's entire job is to lie to you. You're stupid if you refuse to admit it when you're presented with new evidence. That being said, it's really sad and also pretty hilarious to see younger generations of leftists who have no idea about any of this history, falling into the exact same traps. I highly doubt they'll ever find the humility to admit they were wrong.

@georgejesson1944 well that's a different scenario entirely, with no easy answer. China absolutely does pose a very serious threat to the US. Doesn't mean we should wage a ground war with them, but it's definitely not equivalent to the war for profit business. Being strictly anti war is a nonsensical position, I lean very heavily anti war, but to take an absolutist position on the topic is to advocate for weakening your own nation. Potentially hostile nations have to know that war is at least possible, as a deterrent if nothing else. I support having a strong military. That being said, the US hasn't fought a "necessary" war in a very long time.

@kingsfield1270 classic "these people have been lying to me all these years, so this guy must be telling the truth!" syndrome. It's hard for someone to get past that initial ego blow once they realize they've been deceived, especially for a really, really long time. So they'll cling on to the next thing they hear that goes against what they just learned was a lie, so they can feel like they have it all figured out again.

That's still speculation at this point, I'm not willing to take the word of one journalist as fact. It very well could be true. But just because the mainstream narrative is obviously bullshit, that doesn't mean the first credible sounding theory you hear that contradicts that must be true.

@tjaaw well this isn't new, sure some things have changed because of modernity, but some things have remained the same. When societies become weak, weak people always flock to leftist ideology, so the government can fix their problems. And it always ends the same. The people who say it's better to live free, and be unequal, to live under the boot and all share an equal slice of the shit pie didn't just make that up as a theory, it's because of very, very, very old cycles that happen with society, again and again and again. And it's not gonna stop either. Because leftists have learned absolutely nothing, and they never will. Weak people will ALWAYS eventually destroy strong societies, because weak people are incapable of learning.

People want to be right, we want to say "I told you so", that's one of the most important elements of all this orchestrated informational warfare that's been going on for the past several decades. The government doesn't need a hostile takeover of the people if they can tap into the less desirable qualities of human nature, that's why leftists are the way they are. These are selfish, greedy, immoral, stupid pieces of trash that will do absolutely anything to get theirs, no matter who gets hurt in the process. Media and politicians have found a way to flip that switch on every shitty person in society and turn them into a violent cult. And if you think this is bad, it's only beginning.
