Kinda reminds me of Leah Remini leaving Scientology, and them sending the Mafia after her. (Yes, the Scientology Mafia is a real thing, I know it sounds absurd, but is it more absurd than Scientology itself?) But anyway, she's convinced the only reason they didn't have her killed is because she came forward, and she has enough of a public name that killing her would have been too messy. If Lake wasn't as high profile as she is, she may not have been able to come forward with this.
