And it's not even just about illegals voting, if we don't enforce ID laws, there's nothing stopping people from voting multiple times.

Don't give them any ideas.

Exactly, everyone is hyper focused on illegals voting, and that's obviously a problem too. But that's only part of the problem.
13
@fanndamily03 they don't see it as hypocrisy, because they're convinced that they're "on the right side of history". So anything they do to gain or maintain power is justified, in their world.

@Nitrotix1 how is voter ID tyrannical? We have to have a way of ensuring people vote in their according jurisdiction, and that they're legally eligible, and only vote once. Those sound like reasonable restrictions to me.
10
@Solairethedarksoul I'm not sure how it works across the entire nation, but I know in Texas all you have to do to register to vote is check a box on the application for your driver's license or ID. And allegedly you're supposed to provide proof of citizenship to get an ID or license, but anyone that's ever been to the DMV or ever driven a car knows that they aren't particularly strict about that policy.

@Nitrotix1 buddy, our government already has way too much power, that ship sailed a long time ago. But requiring ID for every day life, to verify you are who you say you are, is not one of the major problems that contributed to that.

@SteadyEddie1983 and a republic does fall under the wider umbrella of democracy, because it is a government elected by the people. The disconnect in communication is that when the left says democracy, they mean their democracy, and they want to tailor it to favor their side. The rest of us want to maintain our existing structure, and only amend it as needed, through the proper legal process, not to favor any particular side, but to favor the will of the people, wherever those chips fall.
2
@TheAmbientMage eh, reading is overrated. Anything worth reading has already been made into a movie or a series.
2
Because democrats think you aren't smart enough to figure out basic adult necessities, and they think you're too poor to afford.... Anything at all. But we're supposed to be the racists, according to them.
1
Imagine how quickly democrats would make a 180 if immigrants started voting Republican.
1
@johnobrien5037 they've also said minorities can't afford IDs🤣🤣🤣 who in the hell can't spare $25 or whatever it is, every 10 years or so? How do they think they eat, or do laundry, or any of the other basic necessities of adult life?
1
Remember guys, the people who think black people aren't smart enough to find the DMV or use the internet are the ones that tell you to stop being racist.
1
And Republicans are the racists, because we think people of all ethnicities should be held to an equal standard.

@Nitrotix1 we can curb those overreaches of power without doing away with IDs all together though, this is a very fallacious slippery slope argument. Requiring ID is more in the side of authoritarian than libertarian, but it's a level of authority that any reasonable person would agree is acceptable, necessary even. Freedom doesn't mean everyone can do whatever they want, we have to have some kind of restrictions, or there would be no point in having a government at all. And I'm a pretty damn libertarian person, I'm gonna take the side of personal liberty more often than not, but I don't have a problem with basic rule of law. It's just living in a society.
