@susanray8811 maybe if it's a family member or someone who holds some kind of power over you, I can understand why someone would be scared to come forward. But this woman has the power here, she stands to gain the most from false allegations. You can't just ignore that. And the evidence isn't there, it's just not. It's literally just her word. We don't convict people on one person's word in liberal nations.

@joesmith5097 it's our fault we don't get honest politicians. We don't want honest politicians. Maybe not you, or me, but enough people don't want it that we don't get it. Imagine one candidate that makes a bunch of big promises about things he knows he can't do, and another candidate that says gee, I dunno, I'll try my best but I probably can't lower taxes AND improve infrastructure, you're going to have to pick one. That guy wouldn't stand a chance. The guy promising everything without it costing you anything is going to win in a landslide.

Even if you don't like him at all, if you have any sense of objectivity or principles, you should be able to see how unfair the justice system has been towards him, and conservatives as a whole. It's painfully obvious that our political system is corrupt, and the only way to be "safe" within it is to play ball and do as the establishment says. That should be a problem for 100% of the country, regardless of their personal views.

@petethundabox5067 how is any of that defamation though? That's literally his opinion. Opinions aren't defamation, they're opinions. Defamation is untrue claims that are damaging to someone's reputation, and you have to be able to show tangible proof of the damage done to them, and proof that they were false claims.

@jarridbarker1128 not at the same scale, or even close to it. Republicans suck, but let's not act like both sides are equally bad. It's blatantly clear which side holds all the power and uses it unjustly to their advantage. Republicans are democrats going the speed limit, because government gaining more power benefits both sides of the political class. It's the people who are really to blame. If you would hand disproportionate power to politicians because it's "your team", you are the problem.

@rishg134 not only that, typically when someone is guilty of assault, they're found guilty of assault in criminal court, not defamation in civil court. If there was anything to this they would be pursuing criminal charges. Nobody genuinely believes there's anything here. 100% of the people who support this suit are doing it for purely political reasons, zero exceptions.

Can you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Trump said something demonstrably false about Carroll, and can you provide measurable harm that came to her because of it? If so, she's entitled to precisely what she lost because of the demonstrably untrue statements Trump made, that is all. Denying a crime is not defamation, unless he's found guilty of that crime, and his denial is demonstrably false, and that denial led to a loss of money or other tangible resources for Carroll.

@davidwong5197 what DNA evidence? Also keep in mind, DNA evidence isn't proof of assault, it's only proof that they had sex. Those are different things. I haven't even heard that there was any DNA evidence anyway.

@faizam5789 yea what about it? If there was any substance to the claims, seems like that would have come to light now. You don't really get to use the "Trump is above the law" excuse anymore, because democrats are unleashing all of their legal might against him. If Tara Reid had a real case, it stands to reason something would have come from it by now.

@RyanM-ke2gu and I guarantee that 95% of all politicians have talked about the same thing, they just make sure they're sneaky about it, because they're politicians. Trump didn't give a shit, because he was a private businessman at the time. Blows my mind how the TDS people act like Trump is the only powerful man that's used his power for tail. They all do that. Politicians are just careful about covering their tracks.

If people stood on principle, this wouldn't even be up for debate. I can't even wrap my head around being so stupid I support this kind of political witch hunt, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize anything you use against your enemies can be used against you too.
