  1. Because Democrats want to gain power and influence at the expense of the people, and Republicans want to gain power by making the entire nation more wealthy and powerful. They're both self interested, but Republicans are more symbiotic in philosophy, Democrats are parasitic.

  2. The Democrat platform for several decades has been you can't succeed through hard work, you need the government to hold your hand. That's an extremely dangerous mentality to people who believe it.
