I remember making fun of the antivaxx people before covid, and I still think they're crazy, and I'm talking about actual antivaxx people, the old definition, you know..... People that are.... Antivaxx. But the one point they made that I always agreed with was that the government shouldn't force vaccines by law.

@hugomaritz692 well most other vaccines go through years and years of testing and trials, not a couple of months. Side effects always exist, but the risk is minimal in comparison to the benefits. I would say I have an overall pretty high level of trust in vaccines. Even the covid vaccine I don't think is necessarily harmful, it's just not very effective. Certainly not effective enough to warrant all the hysteria, and I'm still against mandates for any vaccine, just on principle.

@experienceofchris1108 the "source, or it didn't happen" people, with absolutely zero exceptions, don't actually care about finding any information, they only want to feel like they won an internet argument. If they actually cared about the claim in question, they would just look for it themselves.

@JB-pd3ir well generally speaking, if a disease is really THAT dangerous, and there's a cure or treatment that's really THAT effective, you don't have to mandate anything, because everyone will just seek the treatment.

@Violet_Lotus_ someone can be crazy and also correct about a specific thing, that's not a contradiction.

@callmedeno people have become so zombiefied, it's like their bullshit meter is broken. Or maybe they don't even have one to begin with. A lot of the bat shit insane shit leftists say online is obvious bullshit, no need to even look that up, especially considering leftists never argue in good faith anyway. Whenever you prove them wrong they just run away like the cowards they are. It's pointless. But if someone makes a claim I'm not sure about, and genuinely interested, I'll look for it myself. Maybe I'll find a different source they didn't know about, maybe I'll find something I didn't know. The only time I'll ask someone for a link or a source is if it's something I'm generally in agreement with but just kinda curious to see, just to make it a little easier for me. Anyone who demands a source as a point in an argument has already lost the argument.
