  1. I don't have any data to back this up, but I would have to guess that people who need to explain that they're not an evil mastermind have a greater likelihood of being an evil mastermind than people who don't have to explain it away.

  2. At the very least he should preface it by saying it's an estimate or something like that. He says it like it's a verifiably proven fact, like the number of people who died from shark attacks last year.

  3. He reminds me of Will Ferrell in The Other Guys, where he starts explaining how he was a pimp in college, but insists he wasn't a pimp. Except everything he explains about what he did is exactly what a pimp does.
