  3. Bill Maher is trying to say "look at me, I'm not woke!" To appeal to moderates and conservatives, and also saying "look how terrible Republicans are!!!" To appeal to the far left. And the result is, just about everyone hates him.

Well you have democrats advocating for race based policy, intentionally harmful economic policy, suppressing the speech of anyone who disagrees with them, and weaponizing major corporations to do their bidding for them. And Republicans are not so enthusiastically saying "wait, slow down". So yea. Neither is great. But it's pretty goddamn obvious Democrats are worse.
