  2. That's actually closer to what an ad hom fallacy actually means than what internet debate bros seem to think it means. It's been conflated to mean a synonym to personal insult, but what it actually means is attacking the source instead of the content. Which typically is some kind of insult, but any time someone says "well that was on Fox, so it's not true", or "that was on CNN, so it's not true" THAT is a true ad hom. Because even if that source really is completely illegitimate, you still need to explain exactly why the content itself is illegitimate, and how you know that.

  4. Not only that, that logic conveniently ignores the fact that so many people will just believe whatever they want to believe. If President Biden came onto a stage with an actual alien, and was like this is my homeboy Blorg, he's an alien from another planet. We've been in contact with aliens for decades. There would be a debate as to whether or not it was actually an alien, with dozens of different theories swirling around online. It doesn't matter if people even see it with their own eyes, there's going to be different interpretations of the same movie.

  5. I saw a lefty numbnuts unironically saying in another thread that PV is illegitimate because of how many times they've been sued. As though someone issuing a suit against you and actually winning are the same thing. I'm not sure if that person was just stupid, or if they were lying. It's really impossible to tell the difference with leftists, but it's always at least one of those things.
