If someone "identified" as having one hand, and wanted to have a hand surgically removed so they could "live their truth", you would be hard pressed to find a surgeon willing to do that, because the lawsuits would be flooding in from every angle, rightfully so. Because this person is clearly unwell, and needs treatment for mental illness. They do not need to be "affirmed", they are a danger to themselves. This used to be common sense.

@Abduckted thank you. I roll my eyes every time I see a comment that starts with "as a _____". With very few exceptions, your identity doesn't matter, it doesn't make your opinion any more or less valid. If a man with one hand wants to qualify that when he's talking about how annoying it is that gloves are always sold in pairs, ok, your identity adds some validity. Other than cases like that, I don't care about your identifiers.

@ericabassi7728 voting rights should be earned, universal voting rights are one of the primary reasons for how fucked our political environment is. And women can work if they want, but you don't get to complain about low wages and also advocate for women to be 9-5 corporate drones, more people in the workforce equals lower average wages. That's just how numbers work, regardless of the fluffy bunnies and fairy dust in your ideological brain rot tells you.

@DefineHatespeech leftism is a cult, 100%. As recently as a few years ago I probably wouldn't have said that, I would have said they're cult adjacent, but not all the way in. But if you use the BITE model to compare, the far left is off the charts.
