There's always going to be inaccuracies in statistics about mortality, because of comorbidity. Honestly I thought this was something everyone knew, or at least could deduct through critical thinking. People die all the time from complications due to other illnesses, sometimes there isn't a singular, clearly defined COD. Now when there are corrupted vested interests in the numbers telling a certain story...... Anyone with a shred of common sense knows these numbers are completely bogus.

These days when someone calls you a "conspiracy theorist", what they're typically saying is "stop talking about things that make me uncomfortable, because I don't want to risk exclusion from the super cool kids leftist club".

@MrSzymo66 that's why you'll hear ads and PSAs like "(x) people died from heart related illness", because it's hard to really get accurate stats about more specific heart related illnesses because of how there's often multiple issues, and the purpose of the ad isn't to scare the shit out of you, it's just to say hey, heart health is important. Because if you have poor heart health, you're at high risk for a number of things. That's the difference in fear based statistics and education based.

I loved how all through 2020 they were saying "cases are still on the rise", I pointed out to several of the covid crazies that if ONE person in the entire country gets covid today, then they can say that "cases are rising", because that's one more total case than yesterday. Amazing how so many of them had never even though about that, and they knew I was right, but they just blocked it out. They don't want to know.

The media is very sneaky with their language, they know how to manipulate the easily influenced, politically uninitiated people they're targeting and trying to whip into a frenzy.

@rich0471 yep. Just pure evil. And they would interchange "death rate" and "death toll", to subtly get people to conflate the two in their head to mean the same thing. So when they say "death toll still rising".... Well yea, no shit, unless people are coming back from the dead, more people have died through the year today than yesterday. But people get the impression that the rate is rising.

Of course they are, everyone who dies with covid is being counted as a death from covid. Imagine if everyone who has high blood pressure and dies was listed as dying from high blood pressure, that would make it statistically seem like people were dropping like flies left and right from high BP. Because people die, a lot, there are 330 damn million people in the country. Every time you blink your eyes someone died, and someone was born.
