@whenpigsfly8178 I know this is kind of a weird parallel to draw, but it's sort of like popular music. Have you ever heard 2 people who like country, or hip hop, or pop music talk about music? And yes, I'm painting with a broad brush here, but they typically don't, because they all like the same shit. It's the same 10 popular songs, depending on the genre. There's nothing to discuss. I've had so many vibrant conversations with other metal fans, because there's really not a mainstream for metal, there are some outliers that got big, like Slipknot or System of a Down, but for the most part not so much. So metal fans are actually very diverse, I probably like several of the same groups as any other particular metal fan, but there's also a whole lot of groups I may like that they don't, and vice versa. And more often than not, each of us will mention a group the other may not have heard, and we each end up learning a new group in the process. This just doesn't exist with people who just follow the "current thing", and yes, music is a pretty silly, surface level example, but it's also indicative of personality in a way. I'm willing to bet most of the wokies are the same with music as they are with politics, they don't have any interesting opinion at all, they just follow along with what everyone else likes.
