"Left libertarian" means "I get to do whatever I want, and you have to pay for it if I can't afford it". Which is not very libertarian by the standard of anyone who knows what words mean.

I'll actually somewhat agree with the left in the whole "housing is a right" thing, if you reduce it to it's most basic parts, if you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, and you see a big hollow log, hallelujah, there's your new house, and nobody should be able to strip you of that right. Of course that's not what they mean, they mean a modern housing situation with modern luxuries. That is not a right, because you presumably can't build and maintain that all by yourself, especially not if you're a smelly San Francisco hippie that's strung out on Ozzy Osbourne levels of drugs. You do not have a right to someone else's labor, in any reasonable universe.

@blunderingfool the perfect microcosm is how they attacked the movie "A Dog's Purpose" by finding a video of the production and selectively cropping a still frame to make it seem like a dog was forced to swim in dangerous conditions for the filming. Conveniently leaving out the entire team of trainers just feet away to intervene if the dog was in any trouble, and the fact that the dog has been in numerous movies and is well trained in stunt work. And that's really harmless compared to the real, tangible harm they cause, it was just a movie, hurting the movies box office draw doesn't directly hurt any animals, but it just shows where their morals and ethics are, they were completely aware that no animal was in any real danger producing that movie, but they didn't care, they just saw "dog movie! That's money for us!!!!"

Left libertarian is such a nonsense position too, unless you're just kinda left and kinda libertarian. Anything further on either scale makes no sense whatsoever, because if you think people should be forced to fund other people's lives with their tax dollars, you're not a libertarian, and if don't think people should be forced to fund other people's lives, then you're not a leftist.

@SpencerLemay exactly, and everything is a zero sum game to them, they act like the amount of resources and services we have is stable and static, and we can just divide it all up to give to everyone who needs it. The part they don't understand, or just refuse to acknowledge, is that all that stuff only exists because people have to work to have money, at least to some extent. A lot of that is slipping away, the correlation between work and results is a lot looser than it used to be, before western societies started implementing more leftist policies. But it still does exist at least in some form, most people work either mostly or entirely because they have to work to have money and maintain their life. The more we give into "just gimme, because I want it" mentality, the further that's all going to slip away, until there's no stuff left at all.
