The US consumes about 2/3 of all the prescription medication in the world. Causation doesn't equal correlation, but I can't think of anything else uniquely American that could have as strong a correlation.

@jamesmorrow1646 why this time? Every other time an incident like this happens, any information available is blasted on the front page of MSM 24/7, until whatever other more nefarious crisis the government is working on passes. Why is this one so different?

Not just with "mass shooting", but "school shooting". The majority of mass shootings are gang hits, but the media only talks about it if it's a lunatic at a school. And a "school shooting" is literally any time a gun is discharged on school grounds, most of which are either self inflicted or accidental discharge, some douche bag brings daddies gun to school to show off and he accidentally fires it, even if it just hits the wall or the ceiling, that's counted in the statistics. So any time you hear either term, they're making you think of a crazy person indiscriminately shooting into a crowd, but that's only a small percentage of the total numbers.

@baconsarny-geddon8298 there are countries with a higher rate of gun ownership per Capita. There are countries with less gun restrictions. There are NOT countries with the same level of drug abuse and prescription abuse. There are NOT developed countries with the same level of gang violence. Guns are not the problem, gun culture is not the problem, unless by "gun culture" you mean gang culture. And you should take a closer look at gun violence in the US. The overwhelming majority of it occurs in a handful of major cities. The geographic majority of the US has a lower rate of gun violence and all violent crime than the majority of Europe.

@SamiiYou I don't think anyone is denying that there are other factors involved, but when you look at the fact that mass shootings happen at a much higher rate in the US than anywhere else in the world, and the fact that the US takes 2/3 of the world's pharmaceudicals, you can't really honestly deny a correlation there.

@Fgway my fiancee is pregnant, we had planned on getting her tubes tied after the baby, but she's having second thoughts, so our doctor told us not to do it, if we change our mind and decide definitely to not have another baby, I should just get a vasectomy. I was like nah, nah, not necessary, I'll just start taking steroids, then I'll be ripped AND sterile🤣🤣

@eliseosterbrink8000 it's a vicious cycle. Medicine is great, it's amazing that we have the ability to treat and cure so many things that used to be deadly, or extremely limiting conditions. But with that has come a lot of new problems. For every person whose life was saved by prescription medications, there's probably 5 more whose life was ruined by medication they never even needed.

@mikehannigan848 my ex girlfriend's mom was on a thousand medications, it was like that when I met her so I'm not sure about the total background, but her husband, my ex's dad died from brain cancer a while before I met them, he was only about 50. That's when she started on an anti depressant. So I can't say for sure, since I didn't know them, but she may not have even been clinically depressed, it's pretty damn normal to be depressed when your husband dies so young like that, you don't need medication for that, you need time, support, and therapy. That's normal. That's just being human. But the anti depressants gave her some freaky side effects, her skin got real delicate and scaly where just brushing past the door frame would tear her arm open and she would bleed like a fountain, so she had to get on a coagulant, that gave her blood pressure problems so she got on a pill for that, that made her hair fall out so she got on a pill for that, and so on and so on, everything she was prescribed to gave her a new issue she needed a new prescription for. She was a pilled out zombie. And all of this was most likely completely unnecessary.

We put kids on speed if they get bored by things that are boring, we put them on anti depressants if they get sad when sad things happen, every teenage girl is on birth control instead of being told to respect herself and keep her legs closed, every teenage boy is shamed for having natural teenage boy problems. Everything they eat is 80% synthetic, they spend all day on the internet watching other crazy people talking about crazy person stuff. Everyone that's not white is told that nothing is ever their fault, and some invisible entity is working against them. Then shit hits the fan and the left blames guns.

I love how when it's a white guy, or even if it looks like a white guy, they're all over the news within 5 minutes speculating about "far right motivations", but when it's a trans person, with the most clear and obvious motivation and targeted attack we've ever seen, they act like they don't know anything, and they have too much "journalistic integrity" to speculate. Even though they don't even have to speculate anything, the facts are right under their nose.

@theforcedmeme yep. Back in the old days a teenager could go buy a hunting rifle, it was no big deal, nobody cared. That shit was normal, everyone had guns, we treated 15 year old boys like grown men, and these kind of tragedies didn't happen. Then, suddenly, when we started throwing pills at every problem anyone can have, these things started happening.....

They do another sneaky little sleight of hand by categorizing a "school shooting" as absolutely any time a gun is discharged on school grounds, which includes accidental discharges and sue is sides. So if some dickhead brings his dad's gun to school to show off, and it goes off and hits a wall, that's a "school shooting" according to the statistics, even though nobody was even shot. So whenever you see statistics about "mass shootings" or "school shootings", the media is deliberately misleading you to make you think the big scary number they're showing you is all incidents where some lunatic starts indiscriminately shooting kids.
