The most frustrating thing about being right before most people realize you're right, is once they do realize you were right all those years ago, they never go back and say "hey, this guy was saying this years ago...." They already forgot you were ahead of the curve.

@NikeaTiber it really is, and they act like it's silly and irrational to believe in a higher power, even though they believe things that are far more silly and irrational. And I'm an atheist, I'm somewhere in the middle here, but I don't view all religious people as silly or irrational, I've never claimed to know if God exists. I just don't know.

I remember seeing this prank/social experiment where a guy got on elevators and faced the back wall instead of the door. About half of the people who got on after him faced the back wall too, just because he was doing it. A smaller group of people ignored him and faced the door, like a normal person, and the smallest group of people actually asked him what the hell he's doing.

@endlessstrata6988 how many countries have had communists governments? It's not that unbelievable for a lot of countries to be wrong, it's actually the norm throughout history.

@vangoghsear8657 Rogan is still left leaning, he's just not a bat shit insane lefty. But just because he calls the insanity out doesn't mean he's a conservative. Carl used to be pretty liberal too.

@problematicspaghettios and it's true too, we saw these effects in real time during covid. Not to that extreme degree, all the time, but in some cases it really was that extreme. The normal conventions of society, politeness, keeping to your own business, all that stuff quickly goes out the window during a crisis.

@luizmonad777 and you would be in the minority, because it's pretty hard to have affirmative knowledge that God doesn't exist. I'm not even 100% sure leprechauns don't exist, I'm sure enough to say I don't believe in leprechauns, but I do acknowledge that there's a small possibility I'm wrong.
