I have an ex coworker that was a raging lefty, I usually just avoided that conversation with her because it's pointless, she just asserts emotion based opinions and no amount of evidence or logic in the world will change her mind. But when she said things that were just factually false, I couldn't help myself, and one time she made a comment about how all the mass shooters are white guys. So I pulled up some numbers and showed her the demographic breakdown, showing that whites actually represent a lower percent than their representation in the overall population, and she went into a full on rage and got mad at me. Imagine getting mad at someone because statistics prove you wrong. I guess it would be even more irrational to get mad at the statistics themselves. Maybe? I'm really not sure, either way it's irrational and insane.

@run2cat4run if someone really wants to get a gun, they're going to find a way to get one, and if they intend on using it for illegal purposes, they don't really give a shit if obtaining it in the first place is legal.

There's been 2 incidents in the major league baseball season, not even a month in, where fans were throwing trash and other debris at players. And these kind of incidents aren't unheard of, but they're also pretty rare most of the time, fans generally know that harassing the players in that way, by doing something that can actually physically harm someone is a line you don't cross. Yell at them, heckle them, nobody cares, but generally you don't have people throwing shit onto the field trying to actually hit the players. Bad behavior is less frowned upon than it ever has been in recent memory.

@ashlevrier yea but haven't soccer fans always been kind of notorious for being uncivilized savages? Baseball fans typically aren't like that, it's usually years in between incidents of fans actually interfering with the game in any way.
