@Arctc-zh6rg conservative doesn't mean to always conserve everything exactly, and never change at all, just like progressive doesn't mean to always change everything and never conserve anything at all. At least it shouldn't, some progressives do seem to want to obsessively change everything just because they're insane, but the only way you would view things so black and white is if you're one of the insane people. Conservatives just favor tradition more than progressives do, and progressives favor progress. You would have been a pro slavery democrat 200 years ago, just like you would have been a pro segregation democrat 60 years ago, and you're a pro segregation progressive now.

No, that's not what happened, democrats fought to keep slavery, and then campaigned for segregation, and then switched to the welfare party because they decided to be nice racists instead of outwardly malicious racists, since the right finally won that battle and racism went out of style in western nations.

@BboyKeny it's very bizarre how that works, on the left, it's considered a virtue to be the furthest left, they're constantly arguing about who's "the real leftist", and how nobody is far left enough. That doesn't exist with conservatives or moderates, being far right is generally considered a bad thing, by most people.

@Arctc-zh6rg the right was trying to conserve the actual values of the Constitution, that said all men are created equal, the values that our country didn't live up to in it's beginning. The left was trying to progress into "well, all people are equal, but some are more equal than others....." Because that's what leftists always do.
