Ty Cobb was a well known and aggressive racist, he openly campaigned against black players being allowed in Major League Baseball, even made veiled threats of on field violence and retaliation if they allowed integration. And he's still widely considered one of the best hitters of all time, everyone knew about his less than friendly views, and he was never cancelled (mostly because the communists are stupid, and they don't know history.) This should put in perspective how intolerant and rigid the far left orthodoxy has become in the last century in the anglosphere, the personal opinions of public figures like athletes and entertainers never used to be this closely linked to their legacy as a performer.
