The funny part about the bit he/she/it was doing about vegans is that they were accidentally admitting what I've always suspected about vegans, that they don't actually care about any of their alleged principles, and they don't actually want more people to be vegan, they just want to feel special and morally superior to you. That's why they're such colossal assholes about it, they actually don't want to convince anyone to be vegan, being condescending to you is the whole point. The more people go vegan, the less special they feel.

And when it comes to comedy, if you're just offensive and not funny, nobody is going to pay to see your show, and if you're too scared to push the boundary and be a little offensive, you're also not funny, and nobody is going to pay to see your show. No outrage mob needed. The court of public opinion already decides who's "too offensive".

@troyturner6083 to each their own, but I believe people of all ages can have valid views and opinions on topics, I think it's important not to dismiss anyone because of their age. People older than you may have more life wisdom, people your age may relate to you, and people younger than you may have a more fresh take on something you've never thought about in that way. Not everyone, obviously, dumbasses exist of all ages too, I'm just saying I try not to let someone's age influence my opinion of their validity like that. You can even learn from little kids, they don't have a filter, they're not trying not to hurt anyone's feelings. Sometimes their brutal honesty cuts right down to the bare bones of a topic.

@daCATgraphics you can always tell the difference between people who genuinely believe the religion or cult, the true believers are usually very polite and friendly, they want people to see them in a positive way so they see their beliefs in a positive way by extension, because they really believe that their way is a good way to live, they want you to have that too. I respect that, even though I don't agree. The crazies will intentionally be condescending, the "fire and brimstone" types, because to them it's all about the feeling of righteousness. They want you to hate them, to push you away from whatever woo woo they use as a shield, because that's more righteousness for them. I honestly believe that most vegans would prefer if there was only a couple hundred or a couple thousand vegans in the world. They don't want to be the only one, they still want to have a community where they can all circle jerk about how awesome they are and how much everyone else sucks, that helps reinforce their cognitive dissonance. But they're probably not happy about how much veganism has grown, if they were capable of being honest about it.

@InsideSmoke well what I mean is as far as being a successful comedian, there doesn't have to be a "line" drawn by anyone as far as what's allowed and not allowed, that line already exists based on how successful you are. You have to find that balance of pushing the envelope and being provocative, but still being funny, there have been comics that just tried too hard to be edgy and forgot the part where it's supposed to be funny.

I think the "punchline" was them getting upset about it, because being vegan was "their thing" before it was cool. Which is more revealing about how narcissistic most vegans are, and how they don't actually care about reducing harm to animals or any of the other bullshit they claim, they just want to feel morally superior without having to bother with actually being a good person. I thought it was pretty funny. For all the wrong reasons.
