  2. I think the court should have to prove the accuser was knowingly making a false accusation in order for any legal action to be taken against you. Otherwise you could have situations where someone with much more power and influence than you commits a crime against you, and unless you know beyond any doubt you have proof, you can't even come forward without risking penalty to yourself.

  3.  @I-Dophler  and I agree with your basic sentiment, we absolutely have to do something about these baseless allegations ruining people's livelihoods, it's pure evil. I just think we need to maintain that balance, and understand that there's a difference between malicious false allegations, and a legitimate accusation that just doesn't have enough weight for legal action. Maybe I'm genuinely not sure if a law was broken, maybe my boss is horrible and I'm pretty sure they broke some laws, but I just don't know enough about the law. I have a right to press charges, and if it turns out I'm wrong, I shouldn't face any legal consequences for that. I was just wrong, not malicious.
