Same with all his followers in the present day. Hopefully soon. Although I would amend that to "the only positive contribution....."

@stephenthomas1492 liberal philosophy, and the culture attached has turned most of us soft. The ideals of "agree to disagree", and having a cohesive society are nice in theory, and great while the seas are smooth enough to live that way. Everyone would rather get along peacefully than live in hostility. But we've taken that too far, to the point where so many people are scared of being called racist, even when it couldn't be more obvious nobody actually thinks you're being racist.

@Argent Wolf are you talking about the right wing identitarians? Because I've been noticing a lot of them recently, especially in the comments to this channel. Usually small hat conspiracy people, also anti black. And I'm not blind, I'm well aware of statistics, I know about the crime problem and the wealth centralization problem. But that doesn't mean a black person is responsible for what other black people do, or some random Jew minding his business is in on some plot to dominate the world. I don't buy any flavor of identity politics, statistics are statistics, and people are people. If I'm going to blame a black guy for black crime, then that means I'm accepting blame for everything bad that a white person does. I'm just not gonna live my life that way, people are responsible for their own actions.

@stephenpmurphy591 sad that it's taken on that meaning. In a strictly academic way, I would define the right as more of an emphasis on individual liberty, and the left as more of an emphasis on collectivism and the overall results.

@somebloke13 sure, but the US was supposed to be a meritocracy. I'm not one of those "diversity is our strength" people, I don't give a shit about diversity one way or another, but I do think it benefits a capitalist society to cast a wider net and let anyone who can do the job come do the job. You get the best people for the job that way. Of course that only applies if we actually value merit. That's obviously not the case anymore in the US.

@GreatRottweiler very likely. But I think there's an authentic element to it too, and I see where they're coming from. When you look at statistics, there is absolutely a black crime problem, and there is absolutely a shitload of Jews in the top rungs of society, with an unfathomable amount of power. But that's still not representative of any individual. So I can see their point, and I agree to some extent, you're not gonna catch me wandering around the south side of Chicago late at night, because I value my life. But I'm also not going to treat a black person any differently, as though they should have to bear some collective guilt for what people who look like him do. I don't want anyone to treat me that way based on any inherent characteristic.

@somebloke13 if you and I are GMs of a baseball team, and you say you only want white players, and I say I want the best players, I'm going to have a better team than you. Because there's some damn good players that aren't white.

@Argent Wolf you didn't seem irritated or hostile to me. I was replying to the other guy that couldn't help but prove my other comment right, about the right wing identitarians.
