I even see conservatives saying things like "that was true in the Kennedy days...." and I'm not even sure that's true, I'm pretty sure Democrats have always been the party of the wealthy elite, from the plantation owners to the present day tech tyrants, getting richer at the expense of the poor has always been their shtick.
