I would like to formally apologize to all of the stuffy Christian conservatives of the 90s and early 2000s, who I used to scoff at, and thought were just being alarmist and clutching their pearls. I've never been a leftist, or even a liberal, but my views on cultural issues used to be more liberal than they are now.

@theimmortal4718 too bad. More women should have stood up against it, nearly all of them were at least complicit. And men who criticize feminism get automatically dismissed as "misogonyst". Women should have policed their own poor behavior, the same as men generally do.

@theimmortal4718 most women will be selectively feminist when it immediately benefits them, even if they're not a prototypical feminists, or would even call themselves feminists. And a lot of them probably don't even realize they're doing it, it's just garden variety manipulation that most people would do if they could get away with it.

@CoolPapaJMagik I see what you mean, every day. Imagine a scenario where a man is a sole bread winner of the house, and tells his wife she can't buy something or go do something. Most people, men or women, would have an objection to that, and would make some comment about the husband being an asshole, or "controlling", probably even some jab about him being sexist or something along those lines. When in reality, this is a perfectly reasonable thing to do, if it's your money, you should have the ultimate authority in how it's spent. There's countless other examples. And in the reverse, if the woman makes all the money and the man stays home, NOBODY would have a problem with her dictating how he spends that money, they would probably even throw in a jab about him "not being a real man". Clear double standards, and the majority of society is guilty of it.

@snigie1 a friend of mine was part of a Christian singles group, actually met her husband there. But the acronym was "m-something a-something Pentacostal", I can never remember what the M and A stood for. It just always cracked me up because they were "MAP"🤣🤣🤣 whenever she would tell me about it, I'm like you guys might want to ummm.... Change the acronym. That's already taken by a group that's..... Let's say not Christian.

@theimmortal4718 doesn't matter how it makes me feel, what matters is that the leftward push of society has effected far more people than just the people who consider themselves leftist or left leaning. That's the point. I never said anything about my personal feelings about that, it's just a job, I get paid the same either way. The "neutral" position about gender roles for men and women has become skewed very far in a leftward direction, and most people don't even realize it.

@adriadelafuente3648 exactly, and most women are quick to excuse inexcusable behavior in other women, I don't see this same thing in men. I've been in scenarios where a man talks about cheating on his wife or girlfriend, you won't hear another man condoning or applauding that, some men are indifferent, most men will say man what are you doing? Women on the other hand, will almost always immediately try to find a justification for a woman who's cheating, saying he's an asshole, or he deserves it somehow. Society has virtually zero standards for women to behave appropriately.

@theimmortal4718 yes and no, you were saying it effects women who aren't feminists, just in the indirect sense that feminism makes all of society suck. Which is true. But we were correctly pointing out that there's also the direct effect that even most women who aren't feminist were and still are complicit. It's not like there's a lot of women out there standing up and saying we should abandon feminism. If you don't believe me, ask 10 random women on the street if they support feminism. You might find 1 "hell yes, I'm feminist all the way", but the other 9 are likely to dance around it and not want to outright say they oppose feminism. You would probably have to ask more like 50 women before you find that response.

@theimmortal4718 seriously, what percentage of women do you think would say "feminism sucks, the whole thing was a bad idea"? Hell how many men? Probably more men than women, but it's probably still less than half.

@paolo2163 it's not directly gays, it's the leftist idea that being gay makes you automatically virtuous and incapable of doing wrong. That mentality is what opened the door for people to claim victim status as a shield to be immoral scumbags.

@theimmortal4718 no I see it in real life every day. I work at a small business that's mostly women, none of them are far leftists or call themselves feminists, but they're all about the "I can do whatever a man can do" when that's convenient, and whenever something that weighs more than 10lbs needs to be moved, or something nasty has to be done, they immediately look to me. It's just little subtleties like that, the have their cake and eat it too mentality.

@theimmortal4718 ok, so what are we supposed to do about it? We can take control of our personal lives, but there's not much we can do for society as a whole when the majority of the country has their head 3 feet up their own ass.

@theimmortal4718 and what impact does that have on society if you, me, Cool Papa and everyone else in this thread live their life that way? Most of us here already know all of this. It's the normies that need to know it, the ignorant majority. And I'm not sure if you've noticed, but they don't care. They're the people who were wearing masks, even though they knew it was stupid and pointless, they just didn't want anyone to confront them.
