A threat, or fear. It's sort of the same thing to a dog, if they sense your fear they regard that as a threat. A lot of black people are scared of dogs, it's just a weird part of their culture.

Still not my favorite. I work at a kennel, and a big portion of the problems started in group play are because of pit bulls. Most of them don't get approved for play in the first place, and the ones that do are almost always a pain in the ass. They don't know how to play right, they're too rough and they don't listen to correction.

I used to think my blue heeler was racist, because she always barked at black people. But one day there was this methed up white guy walking around the apts looking into people's cars, trying to find stuff to steal, and she went ballistic with her "I'll eat your face!" bark. Then I realized she just doesn't like people who are up to no good.

Makes me think of that King of the Hill where Hank thinks Ladybird is racist, because she kept trying to bite the black AC repair guy. Turns out she was just trying to bite him because she knew it was wrong for anyone but Hank to be fixing things in the house🤣🤣🤣

@WaldregTheGreat In a way, yes. It doesn't mean they're always justified in how they react to body language, poorly trained dogs or dogs with trauma will often attack. But they don't always attack everyone, all the time. They usually attack people who are scared, because they can perceive it as a threat. Again, not saying the kids did anything wrong, not justifying it. Just explaining why they react that way. Dog logic doesn't work the same as human logic.

@RipOffProductionsLLC she's not lying, she just wants you to do it for her. It's part of strengthening your bond, they'll often look to you for help even if they can do it themselves.

@DamePiglet exactly, you're not lying to the waitress when you ask for a drink, you can get your own drink, but when you're at a restaurant, it's her job.

Yep. I've known black people who were great with dogs, it's not a race thing, they can sense when someone is up to no good. Take that as you will, because they definitely tend to be more aggressive and apprehensive towards most black people....
