It's also because that's the kind of crap the majority of people want to listen to. They just want something familiar sounding that they don't have to think about.

@Ghost_Text I've actually thought about this a lot, a bet a lot of radio DJs really love music, and get into it super enthusiastic about actually playing GOOD stuff, not just popular stuff. And then they realize 99% of the requests are for the same 6 songs. So they end up just playing the same 6 songs most of the day. That must be depressing.

You can't kill the metal! Heavy metal is one of the only remaining genres that's still good, because there isn't a lot of mainstream demand. There's always a few exceptions that break through, like Metallica, Slipknot, Disturbed, etc., but generally speaking, if you're getting into music for the fame and money, metal isn't the way to go. Most artists are doing it for the music.

@darth3911 sure, but if your only means of finding music is just turning on the radio, then you're not smart enough to like music in the first place.

@smelltheglove2038 that's not true at all, there's plenty of newer groups that are great, like Malevolence, Ladrones, Ice Nine Kills. And a lot of the newer good stuff is by old groups, but a lot of the OGs are still around making great music too, like Lamb of God and Slipknot. Metal is alive and well.

@amalekedomite name one problem in the world or in your personal life that you don't blame on the tiny hats. Absolutely anything at all, you can even say that light that keeps burning out in your kitchen, I dunno, anything at all. There has to be SOMETHING.

@amalekedomite there is no magic tiny hat power, there's very not magical, very logical financial and political power. And a lot of tiny hats have a disproportionate amount of financial and political power, that part is true. But it isn't an absolute rule, that's just an oversimplification that people with small IQs latch onto, because it makes them feel like they understand the world.

@BetaRayBill32 yea they're so insufferable. And I really do see their point, and I can see where their views come from. I'm not naive to the uneven distribution of power in society. But these people are OBSESSED, to the degree that it blinds their judgement.
