  2. Is it wrong that there's a part of me that misses the "good ole days" of low brow YT videos just laughing at SJW madness? I mean, I think most of us knew even back then that it was going to get much worse, and much more harmful as opposed to just stupid. But I still miss those days that it was just stupid and fun to laugh at.

  6.  @shioq.  a lot of people seem to be getting away from store bought bullshit dog food. Or maybe that's just my perception because of the circles I'm around a lot, I work at a kind of upscale kennel, most of the people there feed their dogs high quality food. So I'm sure that's not "most people" in general, but still, there is growing awareness of how shitty most traditional brands of food are.

  8.  @ronfroehlich4697  I don't know what any of us could have done about it though. I hate to have such a defeatist attitude about it, but these wheels were set in motion years before most of us were even born. And they have every institutional power on their side too. I'm sure most of us tried to at least make people aware, even if just in a small way, I used to show SJW videos to normies I knew, and we would have a good laugh about it. And I would say yea it's funny and ridiculous, but this shit is going to get way out of control before you know it, they would always kinda shrug it off and act like I was reading too deep into it, like it was just a dumb phase that would pass.

  9.  @ronfroehlich4697  you know what I've always said was a very significant shift in culture, that most people are aware of but maybe haven't made the connection, is the advent of "conspiracy theories", and the stigma that's attached to it. A lot of people are scared to even suggest some kind of alarm about something that either isn't confirmed or isn't widely accepted yet, and I don't think that's a natural thing to be ashamed or ridiculed for. I mean, imagine a tribe of ancient humans, and one of them is like oh shit, I saw a tiger! I'm sure everyone would just take that at face value and get armed and ready. And if it turns out there wasn't a tiger, they probably wouldn't ridicule him, they would just be like hey, better safe than sorry, tigers are definitely a real thing. But today, raising an alarm about something preemptively is seen as paranoia or being a crazy person. That's how we're constantly caught with our pants down by these kind of harmful cultural shifts, and even when basically everyone looks back and says oh shit, I guess that was wrong, those same people don't also go back and say oh shit, I guess we were wrong for shaming the people who tried to warn us. They just go about their business and shame the next person who tries to warn them about something else.

  10.  @Svoorhout85  people overstate it sometimes, it's not like it'll kill them. It just has a bunch of filler junk that really has no nutritional value, so they can make more food for cheap and turn a profit. It's like fast food for pets. But it's definitely better to feed a higher quality food, I don't really know anything about cat nutrition, but I know with dogs they'll actually eat less if you feed them a higher equality food, because it's not full of junk filler stuff. It's still more expensive but it's not quite as simple as comparing apples to apples, you're still spending more for a bag of food but it will last longer pound for pound.

It's like that South Park where the town gets overrun by "time refugees" that travelled back in time to exploit the better economy of current day, so the men of town devise a plan to all just have gay sex in a giant pile, so there are no people in the future. Then the boys decide it would be more productive to actually start being environmentally responsible and make it to where there's a better future, and people don't have to migrate back in time. But then all the men in town decide that's too hard and just go back to the gay sex pile.
