I've actually seen lefticles unironically excusing these kind of things by saying "well we want to reduce immigration for fiscal reasons, but conservatives are just racist. So it's different", or something to that general idea.

The funny part is most foreigners actually are transphobic, and basically every other thing that the left accuses evil white conservatives of being.

@KaeBae_ that's actually a great analogy, they're like teenagers that moved out of their parents house because they're so smart and edgy they don't need nobody, but after a very brief time realized that being an adult sucks. But their ego won't let them just come crawling back so they have to think of some justification for why it's actually their parents that want them to move back in.

They'll just say it's different when they do it, because conservatives want border security because they're racist, but leftists want the same thing because they're virtuous and care about poor people.

@prettyboyjeremy but it matters to them. Because to them, "optics" is more important than function, even if the function is exactly the same. They can just lie to themselves and say it's different because reasons. Completely ignoring the fact that assuming other people's intentions isn't a particularly honest way of looking at the world.

@Arkalidor that and their idealism is their own worst enemy, they seem to be searching for a perfect system for things that don't really have an even potential perfect system. So they'll just toss out the entire old system because it has some problems without even thinking critically about the problems of their system. And then accuse anyone who tries to tell them about those problems of "just not caring" about the problems of the current system. It's so dismissive and completely incompatible with any kind of reasoning and actual problem solving.

@obviouslyasockpuppet every leftist has an extremely severe "main character" complex, they're completely convinced that everything they do is for morally superior reasons, and that anyone who disagrees with them is acting in a nefarious way, even if the actions are exactly the same. They even think they're morally superior to other leftists, that's why the "I'm the real leftist" argument is so prevalent in their echo chambers.

@Lucky13Ravens does it really matter? Isn't he supposed to be everywhere, and nowhere at the same time, exist beyond the physical realm? So it wouldn't really matter if someone says he "lives in the sky", because that's sort of true, just like he "lives in all of us", or literally any other location you want to ascribe, it's just a metaphor.

@jl453k2 but if he's omnipresent, then his actual physical location is completely irrelevant. Because he's everywhere. That's what the word "omnipresent" means. You could say "god lives in this cup of coffee", and that would be accurate.

@jl453k2 yea I get what you mean, and it's not like it's a particularly cutting insult anyway, just a dumb little dig. But pretty much everyone in the western world has had some kind of religious influence, Christian particularly. Atheists may not necessarily be well read on the bible, but I'm pretty sure everyone at least knows the general idea of Christian doctrine. It's pretty much impossible to avoid if you live in a western country, hell pretty much half of the world, not even necessarily majority Christian countries.

@jl453k2 hell I would even take that a step further and say if you had some kind of "bible jeopardy", atheists vs christians, the results would be pretty neck and neck. There are a lot of atheists that are extremely knowledgeable about the bible, and left religion due to that, and there are a lot of Christians that don't really know that much but were just raised Christian, always went to church, and believe on faith without really having to do a whole ton of research and reading.

@AleksandarIvanov69 that's a really good point, these kind of far leftist attitudes and ideas wouldn't even exist in adults, or at least would only exist on the very small fringe if the adults in the room told them to shut up and get a job, like they're supposed to. I think every 6 year old is a socialist to some degree, because you're greedy and selfish at that age, you just want more stuff. More more more, all the time, gimme gimme gimme. That's normal. But your parents are supposed to teach you that life doesn't work that way, because everyone else wants stuff too, and there's only so much stuff to go around. Whenever we see a generation that's largely a failure, look to the generation before them for answers.

@jl453k2 kinda sounds like splitting hairs to me, that's kind of my entire point. It's a silly thing to argue about. When people say "sky daddy" and stuff like that they're just saying it in a silly way to make it sound silly. That's all. It's like if someone called your dog a furry squatter or something like that, yea, that's kinda true. He's furry, and he doesn't pay bills or anything, he just lives with you and eats your food. But that doesn't mean your dog sucks or anything, you don't have to take it as an insult. It's just someone saying something that's technically true but making it seem as it's silliest interpretation.
