I can't even imagine being in a position where I'm a journalist, I know of a messed up situation that the public should know about, and my superiors say nope, don't report on that, it might hurt the person we want to win the election, and I say sure chief, sounds good to me. "It's just a job" is not an excuse, if your job involves something that unethical and immoral, take a stand, or at the very least, find a new job. Being complicit is the same as being one of them.
