@minki46664 I didn't. The first time I heard about communism I was probably 10 or so, was told that it means a distribution of wealth and resources to emphasize equality, something to that effect. I immediately thought "well that's dumb, why would anyone work for more when you just get more from people who do work more?"

Plus you could always catch and release, just go through the motions and before you get to that point be like "oh nah, nah. I don't dip my wick in crazy"🤣🤣🤣 that would be funny too. I fully support anything that humiliates, denigrates, emotionally or physically harms these creatures in absolutely any way within the law. They deserve 100% of the pain and misery that can possibly be inflicted on a human being.

@Kneejair no, cult refers to the level of control it has over your life. You can be religious and still live a normal life and blend in with society, most Christians aren't restricted in their daily activities due to their faith. It's a little nebulous because the level of control is subjective, what I think qualifies as a cult probably isn't the same as what you consider a cult, but there's definitely a distinct difference between a Christian that goes to church pretty regularly but doesn't make it their entire personality, and someone who lives in a commune with a bunch of freaky hippies and has little to no contact with the outside world.

@asd3601 no, that's not what words mean. You're partially correct with the 2nd part, a cult doesn't necessarily have to have religious ties, you can make an argument that veganism is a cult, or at least that there's a cult within veganism, and it doesn't have any traditional religious ties. But not every religion is a cult, if that were true then the words religion and cult both become completely meaningless.

Look, I understand where stupid people are coming from when they say there's no real difference between a religion and a cult, and I also understand you're usually just trying to offend religious people, but just because 2 things are similar, and don't have the most clearly defined distinction, that doesn't mean they're the same thing. It's called a vague concept, you have to be able to use subjective reasoning to say "these 2 things are not the same, even if I can't draw the most clear line between what makes them different". It requires an IQ of at least 50.

Aren't they all faking it? Nobody actually believes men can be women, the people doing it are bat shit insane and don't know what they're doing, and the people enabling it are just scared of social ostracization, and the people pulling the strings are just weakening culture to create a power vacuum. And if I can exploit the system, that means other people can exploit the system, and if people can exploit the system, then they will. Look at welfare spending in the US right now. How much of that do you think is really necessary, and how much of it is people just taking advantage of social programs they don't really need? I can't put a number on it, I don't think anyone can, but it's sure as hell a lot more than what needs to be spent, or should be spent.

@bufficliff8978 there are a lot of Catholics who are really just Catholic by default because their family is. It's both cultural and religious, I know a lot of people like that. They've been told all their life that God will shoot them in the ass with a lightning bolt if they don't proclaim themselves as Catholic, but they don't really put anything into practice in their everyday life.

There are plenty of instances of real injustices, where someone completely innocent is killed by police for no good reason, but those stories never make headlines, because everyone would agree that it's wrong, and the guilty person should face justice. Instead they pick absurd cases to highlight, so normal people will defy the dishonest narrative, and the followers of the cult will viciously attack the normal people and blindly go along with what their masters tell them.

Well your politics are based on your values, and you definitely want to be with someone who shares your values at least to some degree, at least to the extent that your values are compatible. Doesn't mean you should ask her about every hot button topic on the first date, that would make for a boring date at best, a volatile situation at worst. But if you're dating someone, you're presumably at least considering a long term relationship, and if that's the end goal, you want it to be someone that wants to go in the same direction as you.
