  1. Heavy metal is one of the only music genres that's remained largely untainted, because there's only a little blip of metal within the mainstream, like Slipknot, System of a Down, and some others. If you're getting into the music industry for money, metal isn't the way to go. So the majority of groups are still really doing it for the music.

It's the same song rebranded a thousand times, for people who are too wasted to give a shit that they've been listening to the same song for 3 hours. And regardless of your personal opinion, it's sure as hell not what the majority of people would listen to, with or without any undue influence.

  6.  @robertbeisert3315  I think both of you are overlooking the fact that a lot of people just don't like music that much. The stuff that's popular isn't necessarily because it's being pushed, it's a chicken/egg situation, that style of commercialized, empty, uniform music is what's the easiest to listen to. You don't have to think about it. It's for people who just want background music for their drive to work, or at the bar. They're not really thinking about it that much.
