  4. My initial libertarian response to the assisted non-Epsteining situation is that if people want to do that, they can do that. And I still believe that's true, but my main issue with it being state sponsored and sanctioned is that it could set a precedent that these thoughts are normal, and rational. And I think that will be harmful to people who have had the thoughts but may or may not follow through. Ultimately you still can't save people from themselves, you can't reduce the number to zero, but we can and definitely should reduce it as much as we can, and having doctors assist in this and tell the public "this is normal, and completely rational" will have the opposite effect.
