I think a lot of people are addicted to stress, they've learned that they can get attention by always having some kind of crisis, so if there isn't a current crisis, they'll create one, or at least overreact to a real problem that isn't that big of a deal. And living your life like that also tends to create real problems, so its a perpetual cycle.

It seems like the people who have the most real stress tend to deal with it in the most productive ways, and the people who don't really have a lot of legitimate stress are the ones that turn into Chicken Little every time something doesn't go exactly how they want it to.

@OutHereOnTheFlats that's a good way to put it. What a bizarre concept, right? I don't think we should go back to shaming people for having mental health issues, and labelling them as invalids like we did in the past, but I don't think our current system of coddling them and treating mental illness like an accomplishment is right either. Maybe some kind of moderate middle ground would be best.

@jaspersureshot seriously. And I get stressed, I'm human, I worry about money a lot, because I'm getting by on the minimum, but that's pretty normal, plenty of people are struggling more than me. And other shit happens too, but shit happens to everyone. Not worth obsessing over and being miserable.
