I know this is an unpopular opinion on the right side of politics, but I don't see a problem with legalizing prostitution. As long as it's 2 consenting adults, I don't see the problem. I mean, for myself personally and morally, sure, it's a problem. But it's not up to me to be the moral arbiter, and is paying cash really any different than meeting some girl online and buying her dinner? Because that's pretty much what internet dating is. You're just taking the middle man out, maybe she would rather have a pair of shoes than dinner. Give her more options.

Small government doesn't mean no government. I personally disagree with Matt on this one, I don't see a problem with legalizing it. But it's not some kind of "gotcha" every time a conservative says something should be illegal or remain illegal, if conservatives were against any and all forms of government control, they wouldn't be conservatives, they would be anarchists. But nice try, little fella.

@bigstreetguns6619 right, it might be cash, it might be dinner, it might be looking at stupid pictures of her stupid friends and pretending to care. Always something.

@lilalicata616 lmao, it doesn't get loose or stinky from having a bunch of partners, the looseness has more to do with her age and body type than anything else, and the smell is just about basic hygiene. Those are just old stories to humorously illustrate that a woman is a used hand me down with a lot of miles. It's still not ideal though just because of diseases and whatnot, not to mention the majority of women that have had a lot of sexual partners are emotionally damaged. But I don't think that really matters when we're talking about prostitutes, unless you like to get to know them first or something. In which case I hope they don't charge hourly.

But a lot of that industry would lose demand if women could do it legally though. Who's gonna work for a pimp when you could just go to the Amazon whorehouse and get an application, do it the legal way, probably safer and cleaner and even make more money? And sure you could make the argument that trafficking is still going to exist with illegal immigration, and it will, but that's an immigration problem, not a prostitution problem.

@jacobhargiss3839 so how would legalizing what she already does change any of that in any way? The fact that it's illegal isn't even close to the root of that hypothetical person's problem.
2
@Jay123hollis again, that's just conjecture. That's just your opinion of what would happen, that has absolutely no relevance.
2
@jacobhargiss3839 there's a lot of things people wouldn't do unless they needed the money, nobody would clean toilets or flip burgers if they didn't need the money. There's always other options, maybe it's not the ideal thing she would like to be doing, but she would at least rather do that than clean toilets or flip burgers.

@jesussaves6625 it's not up to the state to decide if what people are doing is moral or not, it's up to the state to decide if it's causing harm to someone else against their will.
1
@jesussaves6625 so should overeating be illegal? That causes harm.
1
@Ryan-ze9fz yea I don't give a shit what you or anyone else want to label me as, I am what I am. I don't see who the victim is if a consenting adult wants to buy sex from another consenting adult, and I don't care what you think that labels me as, I'm just looking at it as an individual situation.
1
@First Name Last Name I don't think preventing people from paying cash for something they're already going to do anyway is the reason California is burning.
1
@First Name Last Name and also, prostitution wasn't made illegal in the US until 1910. So technically, I'm the conservative here, and you're the progressive.
1
@First Name Last Name having sex isn't inherently harmful though.
1
@First Name Last Name I said it's not inherently harmful. There are plenty of people who have sex with a whole ton of partners and aren't prostitutes, do you want to make that illegal too? And to your point about potentially young women, that's already illegal. I'm only talking about consenting adults.
1
@Jay123hollis that's complete nonsense, why would some women still have to do it illegally? Some might choose to for various reasons, but those reasons are all due to something else that's already illegal. I'm not saying it would be a magic solution to all the world's problems, there's always going to be people who just live on the outskirts of society, you can't reduce that number to zero. But I just don't see any practical reason it should be illegal, and you've given nothing but conjecture about what you think would happen.
