@Gahdinn except evolution is testable, and predictable, and has been demonstrated. It's proven as true to within what any reasonable person would consider as definitive proof, saying "it's not proven" is just a semantic argument, since nothing can be completely proven, not even existence itself. We could be living in a computer simulation, but since that's not provable, a reasonable person would assume that we are not in fact living in a simulation, and that even if we were, there would be no point in arguing about anything. Evolution is the same. Until you have an alternative theory that can be tested, and provided consistent results with the predictions, you have to just accept that evolution is true. If you're a reasonable person.

@jamesmcbridenyc730 it does, but it doesn't always work that way either, one species emerging doesn't necessarily make it's ancestor or ancestors obsolete, like the finches that are famously mentioned in Darwin's original work, the finches that live on the side of the island with nut bearing trees eventually evolved to have shorter, more dense beaks, to crack the nuts, and the finches on the other side of the island had longer, more narrow beaks, to get into small crevices and get insects. Neither species "evolved" in the sense of being superior to the other, they just adapted to different niches.
