God I'm so tired of the "ass kicking woman" trope, they've drilled that one so hard I just roll my eyes, even when it's done in a more conceivable way. I actually want the heroine to get her ass kicked in these movies and shows now.

@AMG-ko3gt yea The Gray Man was excellent, I really appreciated how they didn't try so hard to be different it became a convoluted mess, it was a pretty basic, formulaic spy/action movie, but it was character driven and it was gritty. I hope other filmmakers take note of how well received it was and we start seeing more blasts from the past like that, who don't care about "THE MESSAGE".

@physical_insanity like how they'll show a character getting drunk to play up comedic effect, and then 10 seconds later he's suddenly stone sober when that's convenient? That always pisses me off.

She looks like if Shrek and Fiona had a baby, but when Fiona is a person and not an ogre. I'm not sure how that works. But you get it.
