I love how you guys act like ghosts or proof of the afterlife would be the end of arguments over religion and stuff like that, if ghosts showed up today, religious people would see it as proof of their religion, and atheists would see it as proof of a reasonable explanation. And we would keep arguing, just like we always have.

Maybe. But if that were true they could also exist outside of space and time as we know it. Just kinda overlapping on our reality, but not really consisting of matter. Or some shit like that. I dunno.

@thisulwickramarachchi2380 no that's just objectively true, fasting causes a lot of different weird side effects. I'm not even saying he didn't have "visions" legitimately, who knows, maybe there's a mystical or supernatural element too, I'm honest enough to admit that it's a possibility. But to dismiss this and act as though you know for certain something you can't possibly know with certainty is definitely very dishonest.

@thisulwickramarachchi2380 but how do you know things he "saw" during fasting didn't effect how he viewed things even when he was no longer fasting?

@thisulwickramarachchi2380 and I haven't even mentioned yet that all we have to go off of is several centuries old written text, I highly doubt you would give the same lack of scrutiny to any other claims with the same amount of evidence that don't support your preconceptions. What if I told you my great great grandpa wrote a letter to my great great grandma saying that he saw Jesus and Jesus told him Buddha isn't real? Would you take that as sufficient evidence?
