I have a theory that 90% of the people who say they like Nirvana don't actually like Nirvana, or at least don't like them as much as they say. They just say they like them because they think it makes them seem interesting.

@unleashthebloodthirst69420 I agree, I think the majority of people who say they like them are just trying to go with the crowd.

@ncrveteranranger4454 maybe a high estimate, obviously I can't really know what people's private thoughts are. They're just one of those groups that's become as much of a fashion statement as they are an actual musical group. They're the Beatles of their era.

@ncrveteranranger4454 I meant claiming fandom as a fashion statement too though, not just wearing the shirts. It's like people who say sushi is their favorite food, but you've never actually seen them eat sushi. Maybe they like sushi. But they don't like it THAT much, it's just something they say, because they feel like saying tacos or pizza is a boring answer.

@ncrveteranranger4454 oh nice, fellow metalhead here🤘 although I'm more into the newer stuff rather than the old 80s and 90s stuff, I respect the hell out of groups like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera and all the rest, but my style is more like Slipknot, In Flames, Lamb of God.

@ncrveteranranger4454 lmao, I had to be sure to say "newer", August Burns Red is having a 20th anniversary tour coming up, I just heard about it yesterday and I had a miniature existential crisis🤣🤣🤣 yep, I guess they really are that old, so you can't really call them "new" anymore, same with Slipknot and a lot of my other favorites. Time flies. And I hear ya about the screaming, it's not for everyone. I find most of my favorite groups have a mix of screaming and clean singing, if they never scream I usually just find it kinda boring for my taste, if they always scream it just becomes a little monotonous at a certain point.
