It's just people being too stubborn to admit they were wrong. And the reason so many people have the same false memories is because there are a lot of stubborn people.

@cardboard444 well there's a lot of other factors in why people misremember things, my main point is just that it's not some proof of a glitch in the matrix or any whacky shit like the conspiracy weirdos think it is. It's just our mind playing tricks on us. It's actually pretty interesting, we take in so much information on a daily basis, our brain just isn't capable of consciously analyzing everything. So we fill in the gaps with what we expect. Sometimes what we expect isn't what is actually said or shown.
