The fact that people say "I could care less" and "ATM machine" is proof that we often just don't really think about what we're saying, and what it means. This is even more amplified when we're repeating someone else's words in a song.

@ashleybrown4754 have you ever seen those pics of a woman wearing a patterned dress, and some people think it's blue, and others think it's gold? It's like that. Our brains process way more information than we can consciously process, so we fill in a lot of gaps. That's where this collective false memory phenomenon comes from, and it's very interesting, it's definitely worth serious research to understand better. But it's not some proof of an alternate dimension or anything crazy like that, that's just something stupid people invented to avoid admitting that they're wrong.
