@ShadeSlayer1911 the "current thing" people are the same people who desperately tried to keep up with all the trends in fashion and music when they were kids. Most of us grew up and realized that shit didn't really matter, some of us never gave a shit about it at all. But some of us still care about all that, a lot. Those are the current thing zombies. They're desperate for the approval of others.

This is really one of the things that broke our country, when we had a socially cohesive society, it was when liberals and conservatives agreed that the government sucks, we just disagreed about why they suck, who sucks the most, and what can be done to make them not suck so bad. And that was ok, these are reasonable political disagreements, where we can find a reasonable middle ground. Shit hit the fan when the entire left side of politics decided government is actually their friend, and we should give them unlimited power.

Sorry to hear that. My dad died a few months ago, fought pancreatic cancer for about a year, but eventually it was just too much. He was 75, had pancreatic issues for basically his whole life, since he was a teenager, it came and went, but this time was really bad. But the government never had any business in that, when the recommended treatment kept getting more aggressive, he eventually declined because he knew it was his time, there was nothing that could be done to cure him, chemo and radiation was just delaying the inevitable. He went peacefully at home. The last week or so was rough, he could barely breathe or talk, had lost a ton of weight. But up until that point he was doing pretty well. I don't even trust the government to fill a pothole, the idea of giving them authority over our loved ones lives is madness.
