But it worked in the Chauvin trial. I'm trying to avoid being black pilled, but I think Rittenhouse was a one-off, the evidence was just too overwhelming of his innocence. Anything that's even remotely questionable will go in their favor.

@darrylkemp3253 death by a thousand cuts. It's not always 100% swung in their favor, but it's usually swung 70% in their favor. Over time it mounts up to more and more power.

@nervoussips2622 he died from an overdose. Everything else is irrelevant. Unless you're just arguing that you think Chauvin is a dick, ok, cool, that's your opinion. But it's not a crime.

@nervoussips2622 but there was no physical trauma to his trachea. Forceful strangulation almost always leads to structural damage or at the very least bruising. Especially on a man as big as Floyd, it would have taken even greater than average force to completely restrict his breathing. The forensic evidence does not support this. Everything about his death is consistent with a drug overdose.

@nervoussips2622 but you're being dishonest here, you're intentionally using the most extreme example in your favor and pretending like it's the same as the Floyd case, I'm using the opposite extreme and honestly stating it as different, to make a point that it's not as clear in this case because it's somewhere between both extremes. This is why you get so pissed off about people not agreeing with you here, because you're not being honest. If you have to be dishonest to try to prove your point, your point is probably incorrect.

@nervoussips2622 but that's a vague and nebulous criteria, by that same measure if I smoke all my life and die from lung cancer, is everyone who sold me cigarettes in my life partly responsible? What about everyone who ever smoked around me? Me smoking was undoubtedly the primary contributing factor, probably almost all of it, but who's to say how much of my death wasn't due to other factors? And how much of these other factors are required to consider them significantly responsible? We don't even know if Floyd would have died without Chauvin interacting at all, he could have had a heart attack alone in his car, his levels were that high.

@nervoussips2622 he was resisting arrest, he needed to be restrained. He asked to be taken out of the cruiser because he thought he was dying before Chauvin even put a hand on him, and then he started struggling and trying to get away again. You're using the benefit of hindsight, Chavin didn't know if he was just laying there for a minute before he tried to get away again. And none of this is even relevant, considering he died from an overdose. You're just incorrect. It's really the simple. You're not correct, and the court was incorrect, they were intimidated into a guilty verdict.
