  2. I think the real truth about Columbus is that we just can't really know for sure, we've seen how the media can distort reality right in front of our eyes, in real time. And we have the internet now, and everyone carries a camera and video recorder in their pocket 24/7. When it comes to centuries old history, with nothing but written record to go off of, there's no telling which narratives about historical figures are true, partly true, or completely fictional.

Call me cynical, but it's just hard to believe that this perceived shift away from the left doesn't have some other underpinning to it, it's not like the left just went bat shit insane last Tuesday. This has been happening for years, I highly doubt people are just now figuring it out. Just seems a little too convenient, like they're just giving us a win to achieve a greater end.
