The most generous I can be is that they just don't pay much attention to politics, watch mainstream news for a few minutes a day and hear all the "Republicans bad, racism bad" rhetoric. And that's not very generous, because if you don't know anything, you shouldn't vote.

@jaredthelifeguard9865 I had an ex coworker like that, lesbian, obsessed with how Trump and Republicans all want to kill her and how she's persecuted and life is so hard for her, yada yada all that crap. And whenever she would talk about all the horrifying things in the world, it always started with "I saw on buzzfeed....." Or "I saw this tictoc video....."

I've always been right of center, pretty moderate, but have also got along fine with somewhat liberal people like most of you in this thread probably are. But one of the main things I typically disagreed with people like you about, before the world completely lost its mind, is when I would try to tell you that the moderate left is enabling the far left to gain more power and completely destroy political discourse. And I would just like to take this moment for a little victory lap, and tell you I was right.

@fullyfb3847 I clashed with a college professor when I was 19 or 20, telling the whole class it's our duty to vote, and as soon as you're eligible you have to vote in every election. (Guess which party he supported) and I pushed back saying nah I'm good, I don't really follow politics, and he actually got pissed, it turned into this whole thing. Hopefully I influenced some of the other students who didn't care to just sit it out until they do care, if they ever do, because I was definitely the cooler head between my arrogant 20 year old ass and the college professor. Pretty mind blowing.
