It's funny to ask them though, under just a little bit of scrutiny you can get them to accidentally admit that the "rights" they want are to never be criticized and for nobody to ever be mean to them, under any circumstances, no matter how much of an insufferable douche nozzle they are.

@IHateNicolasCage yep. The regular garden variety people within any group that has a more extreme faction have to keep the extreme faction in check. They're the only ones whose voice matters. That's why the far right has never really been a big thing in America, because the moderate right doesn't have a problem calling them out. We're not as tribal as leftists.

@iabdgogogo1234letsgo have I made any spelling or grammatical errors? Just because I put value on presenting myself as educated and attentive doesn't mean I have to expect the same out of everyone. Even if I do, do you really think anyone is going to start paying more attention to those kind of things because some pretentious douche on the internet told them to? Just be honest to yourself and admit it's more about patting yourself on the back than anything else.

@iabdgogogo1234letsgo well sure I judge people for it, but I don't expect everyone else to live by my standards about things like that. It's not hurting anyone. I might think less of them, but as I stated before, it's not like some guy on the internet telling them to "straighten up" is going to make any difference. So I don't disagree with you in principle, I just disagree with you in practicality, and I also disagree with you about it strengthening or weakening an argument, that's just a cop out leftists use when they don't actually have an argument. Someone can have a well articulated, horrible argument, and someone else can have a strong argument spoken in broken slang gibberish, as long as it's not so broken it's completely incoherent.

@TuhljinTampergauge I don't think there are many absolutes in the "nature vs nurture" debate, I think more often than not, it's varying degrees of both. I sure as hell don't believe the "born this way" argument the left uses to dismiss logical arguments, I don't think there's any doubt that environmental factors play a role, but I also think some people have genetic predispositions towards certain things.
