@kz3cowboy leftists can't seem to comprehend that complex problems don't often have a perfect solution with no downside. Their world is black and white, if you don't agree with transing kids, you want them to die, just like if you don't want Medicare for All, you want grandma to die, if you don't want $15 min wage, you want people to be poor, if you don't support BLM, you're a racist, if you don't support antifa, you're a fascist. This is how they're so easily controlled and manipulated, when you convince yourself that everyone who disagrees with you is evil, you don't have to actually listen to anyone else's ideas.

@theprincipledtransformatio6152 I'm with you 100%, man society really sucks at moderation. I wish the general consensus about mental health could be somewhere more in the middle, but it seems like the near entirety of the left has an enabling attitude towards it, like having a disorder is just a quirk, and that it should be celebrated and nobody should ever feel bad about anything. But that's too soft, sometimes people should feel bad about things, and as harsh as that sounds in the immediate, it's actually better for the long haul. There's nothing wrong with encouraging people to be better. But I also see a lot of people on the right who are too dismissive of mental health, like "just buck up, bucko, stop being crazy". Which obviously it's not that easy, in some cases it's not even possible. Honestly I think the most meaningful social change to move forward would be to stop viewing mental health as something separate from physical health, because it's not, your brain is part of your physical body. If something is wrong with your back, or your kidneys, or anything else, you go to a doctor and seek treatment. There's no social stigma around that either, and we should treat mental health the same. We don't deny it or pretend like everything is fine, but we don't stigmatize it and treat people like they're broken or defective, and should be ashamed.

@theprincipledtransformatio6152 yea the modern political climate is geared towards one upmanship, meaning every article has to be more sensational than the last, or nobody cares. It's a destructive and not a sustainable system. You just can't write a political piece about something being kinda sorta bad, or maybe possibly a good thing, every story has to be the end of the world or the greatest thing ever. And you're right about the political diversity of trans people and LGBT as a whole too, I've met plenty of gay people who are more conservative than me. And the entire idea that Christians hate LGBT people is bogus too, sure, there are some super old school Evangelical types that think it's the worst sin there is, but generally speaking, Christians don't hate gay people, they just don't approve of them being gay. And that's fine, I don't agree, because I genuinely don't care if people are gay, you can love whenever you want to love, as long as it's a consenting adult human. But nearly all the Christians I know have a "love the sinner, hate the sin" attitude, they don't approve of people with drug addiction either, but they're also compassionate towards them and don't come from a place of hate.

@theprincipledtransformatio6152 oh I think mainstream media has a tremendous impact, but we also shouldn't understate the impact of social media and public school, along with numerous other institutions. The left has a complete stronghold on powerful institutions, and the right isn't without blame in all of this, both the political class on the right and the general populous. The right has been too married to principles ideals, we've been trying to play a respectful and sportsmanlike game against a team that doesn't give a shit about respect and sportsmanship, they break every rule and they're proud of it, and we just let them because we would rather be principles losers than get our hands dirty to get a win. And I hate that too, I wish it didn't have to be this way, but the left set the precedent. And conservative messaging needs to be better too, we need to stop indulging the left's insanity and desperately pleading about how not racist we are, who gives a shit what crazy people think? They're gonna think you're racist no matter what, just point and laugh at them like the clowns they are. Don't even bother defending yourself against outrageous claims, the right needs to adopt a more neutral stance towards LGBT, like hey, we don't really give a shit if you're gay or not, we just want all Americans to have a better quality of life. And seriously, the left is bat shit insane, you can't possibly believe the nonsense they're selling, can you?
