@mikepalmer1971 it's a pretty absurd example, you would think you would start with something more egregious like financial fraud or something that does cause harm in a non violent way, before you jump straight to a crime that causes little to no harm.

The overwhelming majority of people who are serving time just for possession were actually charged with more serious crimes and took a plea deal, or they had 12 pages of priors. Very few people actually serve time for possession, it's typically just probation. This is a completely false leftist talking point. And still doesn't change the fact that you started from the most absurd position, why wouldn't you assume someone has a more reasonable position, like severe non violent crime, rather than the most unreasonable position?
